They're basically just portraying anyone that thought that she should've gone against Vicky as villains.

Also I feel that they were deliberately being pedantic about some people saying that "Balvinder should be put out of her misery" rather than understanding their point that Balvinder is simply just not competitive in the competition, and she hasn't been since very early on in the series.
