[CP Lanre Ogunlowo, Commissioner of
Ogun State Police, said: 'I can confirm an accident occurred
and Anthony Joshua has been taken to hospital.'

He added: 'A vehicle rammed into a
stationary vehicle. Unfortunately, there were
two fatalities.
Anthony Joshua was treated
by first-responders at the scene
and then taken to hospital.'

A friend of the star said that
'he's okay but badly shaken up'.

Joshua's promoter Eddie Hearn told Daily Mail Sport:
'We are trying to contact Anthony and in the
meantime we don't want to speculate on how
he is but thankfully he appears okay from
what I have seen in the images.

'We are awaiting more information
on what has happened and will update in due course.']

He has been very lucky
If he was sitting on the other side he would be dead

People really do drive anyhow in Nigeria, and it’s sad. I always hope mandem in Nigeria are safe. Brilliant minds, brilliant culture but just so unsafe. Detty December is cool and everything but outside of that bubble of fun it only goes so far when the surrounding infrastructure and environment is eaten up and corroded by corruption. And Tinubu’s not going to be the man to fix it.

RIP to the poor guys, and I hope Anthony Joshua has the tools and resources he needs to recover from this psychologically, even if that means trauma-informed/centred counselling/therapy. The psychological wounds will likely be there long-after he’s fully back to himself physically, and that can prolong the overall-agony of trauma and trauma-processing.

Errol Spence was never the same again after his car crash … that’s why Crawford took the fight with him .. Crawford had resisted that fight for the previous 3 years !!
