What puts me off is that a lot of the housemates are much more cynical about their reasons for going in - they don't want to be involved in the game, they just want to be famous, whereas in the earlier BB's (definitely BB1 and BB2) they didn't really know if the show was even going to be that much of a success, or if any of the them would be remembered afterwards. I think BB4 was the start of it all going wrong - it was generally classed as quite boring - even though all of the contestants in it seemed to be fundamentally decent people - and I think the program makers went too far the other way in picking their contestants last year and this year, to ensure that it wasn't boring. Nonetheless, a lot of last years contestants were likeable (my favourites were Dan, Stuart, Victor and Shell), whereas this year most of them seem totally obsessed with themselves, and apart from a couple, I don't think their behaviour has been such that they deserve to win £100,000.
Also, in BB1 - BB4, the contestants seemed like people that you could know, or meet in your life. I have to say that some of the contestants in BB5 and BB6 are like no-one I have ever met before - not that that's necessarily a bad thing, but I do think it helps to have a few people in the house who you identify with.
I agree with Linny about Science - although he can be a bit strange sometimes, he is very open and honest, which is very refreshing. I do like Derek as well though!
