What a lovely reminder, thanks ROB

I hope they are having another candle-lit meal to celebrate tonight.

And I would love it if Paul had a proposal in mind

I was sat tonight - feet up over the chair, cup of coffee, watching my BB2 tape of Paul's last week. It was so lovely and I'd completely forgotten about their anniversary - how remiss of me.

Then I watched BB3 and the contrast between the two programmes was so stark it was rather sad.

Never mind - at least the we have some nice memories to hold on to - not that many (any?) are from this year unfortunately.

I loved that romantic dinner date - I remember they were talking about it the day before on BBLB, and I was getting all excited, thinking 'Oh my god!! Paul and Helen are gonna be in the den together having a meal' The memories!!!!
Paul and Helen are THE best!!!

Its my friend's anniversary today which got us to thinking just when will P&H be celebrating (have celebrated) their anniversary. Trouble is we kept coming up with different dates - first meeting, first fancying each other, first date (romantic meal in the den), first admitting they fancied each other - the list goes on and on. If they celebrate all of them they will be having a busy month or so still just think of the fun they will have

And tonight is the anniversary of:

Do you canoodle in the den?

All was revealed to the other housemates before they promptly went off to canoodle some more!

Here's what happened next..........................

Dirty Den!
12:09, Day 57 (July 20 2001)
Paul and Helen spent their last night in the House together cuddling beneath blankets in the den.

The two lovebirds crept outside to play one last game of 'Snakes and Ladders' and ended up staying in each other's arms until four in the morning.

"What are you thinking?" cooed Helen, after the two remained in an embrace for half an hour.

"This whole thing is funny," came Paul's response.

"They won't be able to show," began Helen, as she pointed downwards. "I was gonna' say something there," she worried.

"Don't say nothing," warned Paul.

And with that the two returned to the solace of holding each other, with Helen gently stroking the back of Paul's head.

However, once again it was Paul who appeared less inclined to spend the entire night in the den, and just after 4am he suggested they go inside to have, "a nice cup of tea."

Exactly what happened will be revealed tonight, when one of the pair will be evicted and the nation will hear either Paul or Helen's version of events.

What a night it was, it really was!

After Paul said "I do fancy Helen", etc, and Helen spoke of "The Lights", Liz just had to say "Penny will be livid!"

However, if you have read Stuart's report of the BB2 reunion night which took place at the start of BB3, it seems that Liz was right!

Unfortunately you have go to a site which many of us used to meet at before (known as "The Other Site" by old hands) and it doesn't seem to be working any more!!!

I know, that was great Old Git, but I saw it on Josh's site
I think. Stu didn't mention the cat fight over Paul as well did he?

Must try to get on and look, but ROB hasn't not darkened the portals since a particularly vicious attack on U-KNOW-WHO! It could not be tolerated, BHLCS!!

That's why I came over here to play!

ROB you have brought back some memories with your description. It was just such a fantastic night. Paul's face when Brian asked if they canoodled in the den was such a picture - he gave such a lovely smile before saying 'yeah'. It was as though they had to unburden themselves to the others before they were parted by eviction. For me this was the most romantic evening - they had got to the stage where they needed everyone to know how they felt. It was just so natural. Hope they are enjoying their evening one year on.

The mention of the tea reminds me of Helen calling across the room to Paul (that same night):

"Paul, am I your cup of tea or no?"

And I seem to remember that Paul then proceeded to tell the rest of the group that indeed she was!!

This thread brings back a lot of happy memories

Such a shame that this year will just remind us of how bitchy the housemates are.

Maybe I saw it on Josh's site. But I think that Stuart was involved, because he was staying with P&H, and those three plus Penny shared a cab, and Penny reminded Helen in the cab that she had snogged Paul first.

I do feel sorry for Penny, though, fancy going on a romantic holiday with Nasty Nick only to find out afterwards that he only went out with you for publicity? I really hope she gets some happiness, as she certainly made me happy during the first fortnight of BB2.
