Because I'm pretty sure straight people aren't the victims of abuse or attack for being straight. Straight people can walk down a street holding hands or even kissing. There are places where that isn't acceptable for gay people, and so there's days where gay people can too do this and be proud of who they are. Straight people are surely proud of who they are anyway.
