Galaxy is marketed towards women, as is Flake. As a man do I find this offencive? No. Would I still buy one? If I wanted to, yes.

Those products may be marketed at a particular gender, but not exclusively. They were not deliberately excluding a target market
The Yorkie Bar "It's not for Girls" slogan is exclusive. On the surface it was prohibiting one gender from the product. (See the early TV adverts at the time) I still wonder if with the 2006 campaign for the Yorkie McFlurry any females were barred from ordering it, either by staff or some other third party taken in by the advertising. If I had been working there at the time, I do also wonder if I would have sought clarification if we could sell them to females and pointed out that the slogan did seem to contravene stated equality statements. The 2006 Yorkie McFlurry advert was portraying putting a woman down, by crushing her with a potof the product, (Shades of violence), and that reminds me of one person I know who thinks men are superior and that woman should be put in their place, implicitly by all means available, including force. It was refreshing that the 2009 McFlurry made no mention of that imagery. If I remember I will see if this campaign is continuing. It is possible the garage had cancelled export order for a market where this campaign is not being used. |

The Yorkie bars in the newsagent were the ones with the It's Not for Girls slogan, so that boycott continues
The one from the garage must have been some kind of anomaly ![]() |

Do you seriously think that women were not allowed to buy yorkie products ![]() and i also find it VERY hard to believe that any one that was selling yorkies would have had to of 'sought clarification' whether or not a woman was able to buy a yorkie. |

LOL is this a joke thread or what? Ridiculous. Clearly a joke on the makers' behalf. I haven't heard of one woman who's complained about it frankly.
