He did fancy her a lot, but Bea told him about Siavash and Marcus was always on his case, and I think he had to get out to clear his head and observe Noirin from the outside.

If Noirin moves away from Marcus and doesnt make another mistake with Siavash and keeps herself for Tom, he would be right in there when she gets out.

To be honest, this only proves Tom wasnt a game player, maybe a little weak, but genuinely liked Noirin.
