Default Will Young

As you may or may not know, i am quite a fan of Mr Young

I went to see him in Sheffield on Saturday and I've decided that he is the most incredible entertainer around.

His voice is fabulous, he moves like a dream and he has rather a cute little body too!

Well, Janette, I'd never have known you were a fan of Will's if you hadn't said!!

I'm a fan of both Will AND Gareth (not to mention Darius). I've just bought Will's new CD and it's brilliant.

Come on Janette - never mind half a story, we want a concert review. I need to know costumes, songs, the works!!! I'm so envious you were there.

Mr Young certainly is a mighty fine specimen of manhood, that's for sure - and he can sing too!

Ok here goes!!!!!!!

We were seated right up in the gods, not very good me who's terrified of heights!!!!!!

Zoe came on and started the show really well, she's very talented and a good mover. But why has she gone pop? Her swing and slow songs suit her voice so much better. I hope she does more of a variety on her album.

Saying that though, she was good and looked very professional, it was just a shame the sound was so awful, we couldn't make out words, just the general sound.

I'm not going to talk about Gareth, sorry.

Will appeared on the stage and the quality of the night jumped tenfold. He is a true star, and his voice was amazing despite the poor sound. I heard every word and "You And I" brought tears to my eyes. He was incredible to watch, his talent has just increased with time. And he is totally gorgeous!

The finale was right in front of us, and we got to see Will and Gareth quite close up. But the sound was awful, to be honest I'd have prefered to see them further away and be able to hear them sing!

The Long And Winding Road is a very good song, probably the best Gareth has done, and it was a shame to have it spoiled by technical problems.

The main problem I had about the night was the ridiculous price of merchandise. A mug with a picture of Will on was £15! A little beaded bracelet was £12! i'm not made of money and had to save up so we could go to the concert, and it was a shame we couldn't buy something decent to remember it by. (We did get badges, of Will and Zoe but Graeme's badge had already broken by the time the concert finished!)

All in all, it was a great night. Will stood out above the others by a long way, and I can't wait to see him when he tours on his own.

I have to say that Zoe was my favourite out of the three even though Will put on an exellent performance. I didn't really like Gareth's performance.

My favourite song of the whole concert was Will and Zoe's Duet. After seeing that I have to wonder if Will is really Gay.

I've been consoling myself by looking at some of the pics taken at Will's concerts which have been posted on the 'Devoted' website, Amy. These are a few of my faves:

The third one was taken during Will and Zoe's duet of 'It Takes Two'

Enjoy!

During the early stages of Pop Idol, there was a meeting between the hopefuls and all the judges.

I remember a girl asking if the winner would be allowed to have some input into their music through writing and Mr Waterman went mad saying this is a pop SINGER they were after, not a song-writer.

Throughout Pop Idol the contestants were only allowed to cover other artists songs, and could not showpiece their own work.

Of course, the first couple of songs brought out by the eventual winner would be covers because that is what the general public had heard in the show and it was what they wanted to buy!

Now that Will has finally released an album, he has shown to the cynical hoards out there that he HAS got talent, both in singing and in song-writing.

I can't believe that Pete Waterman could be so two-faced! He wanted no part of the Pop Idol revenue, saying that he'd done the show for the love of good music. Surely he cannot be saying that "Light My Fire" and "The Long And Winding Road" aren't good music?

Sorry, rant over!

BTW Pete (I know EVERYTHING about music) Waterman - I think you'll find that 'Long and Winding Road was never a No:1, in fact, I don't think it was even released as a single in the UK (the original version that is).

You're absolutely right, Susieq. The Long and Winding Road got to No. 32 in the charts in 1970, sung by someone called Ray Morgan. It would be lovely to see it get to No. 1 now as it is such a beautiful song.

I am going more and more off Pete lately, how 2 faced can you get?
During Pop Idol, he said he had had the best years of his life and now hes complaing that they arent doing good music and harping on about HIS band!
I read an article the other day in which aman who worked closely to Pete in the old days was complainging because Pete alwasy goes on about how he produced Kylie and Rick Astley when in fact, this man did and wrote all the songs.
Pete has got it in his head that he is ALWAYS right and every thing he says is correct, he thinks he invented Pop Music, he needs to reduce the size of his head else he wont get anywhwere with his boy band!
