Default Big Brother is over. Accept it.

It isn't going to ITV
It isn't going to 5
It isn't going to Sky
It isn't going to OceanFinanceTV

Its over, done, finished. Its been on for 10 years, it has been involved in so many controversies, it has a quickly shrinking fan base. Do you honestly think another broadcaster will take the risk with BB?

It has long run its course, and it isn't going to be picked up. It might be back in a few years but won't be as good. BB is dead. Time to accept it and move on and not delude yourselves into thinking its going to go to another channel. What axed shows get picked up? The frequency is very low.

I think there's going to a copy programme on another channel, probably something crap like C5. By copy programme, I mean with the basic format of people living in a house, but it'll fail - they'll only pick it up on the offchance.

And a celebrity one. The fan base has been shrinking every series since CBB4, then BB7 was down on that, CBB5 down on that then a huge drop for BB8, 9, CBB6 then another huge drop for BB10. The chances are it will fall even more for CBB7 and ultimately BB11 will be the lowest rated ever. Why would another channel really want to take on a show which loses part of its audience every year?

And yet, here you are, on a BB forum, discussing it.

You understand, I suppose, that this is a BB forum full of people who like BB and will be very sad to see it end. Most people will be hoping that another channel will pick it up... so your post seems a little haughty, to be honest and kind of out of place.

Don't get me wrong it would be good if it was picked up, but I'm just looking realistically and can see that it isn't going to be picked up

Does the truth hurt? It its over, finished, caput. If they do one next year it will get even less viewers and probably be full of even more fake people. I suppose it would be fun to have all the BB winners take part in a 8 week show but people like Craig do not need it or probably want it.

i disagee with you-i reckon it "will be picked up by another channel"-but im really glad that the (celebrity-version)-will still be shown in january-"i do love "celebrity bb""! but-i have long felt that the summer/public-one had been bad for quite a few series! i liked bb-1,2 + 3-"3-was my favourite"! iv always said that what would kill the show would be the (poor quality of housemate)...+ thats exactly what happened. however-"roll on celebrity bb"-(its still great).

Sorry Tom I dont think thats true, If I believed it, I swear i would accept it. But a channel WILL pick it up. This time last year channels were dying to have it, why would this year be any different (apart from ratings).

if it was last year it probably would, but now they're struggling to get 2m viewers and the ratings are not only going down every series, but they're dropping back off again this year too. TV is all about ratings

I agree with Lauren, I think somewhere down the line there's going to be another attempt at a show similar to Big brother, it'll just be a matter of time.

If it goes to Sky there would be no worry though, because over 800,000 would be seen as a huge sucess, the move could see about 1.2m tune in daily (not everyone has Sky so thats why its not 2m+), and that would be very good for Sky.

Im sure ITV could save it, look what they do to all their show, BGT, XF, IAC, they are all hyped up its mental, what have C4 ever done for BB apart from the Black Friday ads for BB5. Nothing. ITV would just need to propell it by advertising and strong publicity and change.

But however if ITV do get it (unlikely) it would most probably fail. But you would never know.

But with 0.8m viewers would it be financially viable? Reports today say it is only just covering itself and thats with 2m viewers

I will miss BB when it does end, but truth be told It shouldn't carry on after next year!

People get bored! it's been 10/11 years of BB, thats alot of shows!, and theirs only so much anyone can do with it. We all know what type of person is likely to win, we know whos likely to get evicted, we know whats coming next, so it's time to end it.

If another Channel picked BB up, it wouldnt make much difference, ! Sky picking it up would be a nightmare, viewing figures would be even worse so na leave it be and look to pastures new.

Hmm.

Director of C4 saying it's likely to be picked up, or random (:P) forum member saying it's dead and there's no chance.

Hard choice.
