Feel like I've gone round and round in circles with this topic every year and for me a 'dream cast' would be something where people around the UK were invited to nominate friends, relatives and if they did seek out people it would be in the most unassuming places,
and, as best as can be expected - some sort of representation of the population. People who had never followed the series being highest priority. Anyone who had an agent, wanted to be in movies, television, singers would be immediately disqualified. There would be no less than two senior citizens, 2 from really every age group minimum. 20's, 30's, 40s and so on. Maybe there would be one 18 year old. There would be a gay and a lesbian. One each. There would be 3 BNP supporters, 7 Labour voters, 6 Tory voters (no, but you get the idea). Half men and half women (they get that about right at least). 2 o 3 would be immigrants/ethnic culture background. But, I am forced to admit that this might be very intriguing to just the hardcore original BB 'Purist' type crowd. We must be a minority of viewers. The truth is that Jerry Springer was the top programme for years and the juicy demographic does seem to be that 16-28 group with a type of disposable income for mobile phones and voting calls. Wannabe models get votes and viewers. Sexed up singles get votess and viewers. Peroxide fake-titted girls get votes and viewers. 20 liberal minded and camp young party wackos get views and votes. If you really get down to it - at this rate they might as well just get 100% of all HMs from their Talent Agents. If they don't already. |

- Audition Process - Evictions - What the public can vote for - Tasks - Surprises - More food/booze/comfort - More to do; gym, parties, etc - More twists and turns The dynamic of the public voting out entertaining yet controversial HMs doesn't work. Evicting someone every week, just making the show worse, doesn't work. The final 6 weeks dragging on and getting boring, doesn't work. Moaning, boring, dull, upset HMs doesn't work. They should be fit, happy, fed and partied up. BB needs big changes. Crap HMs, who also sit around doing zilch all day, doesn't work. |

One thing I wonder if we can all strongly and emphatically agree on:
No more auditions or applications for friends, family, of Endemol, Ex-Housemates, Talent Agents or anyone related to anyone in show business. I don't care if a producer does happen to spot a great contestant (Freddy might be an example) but no more picking people from 'wrap parties' or referred by Talent Agents. Stop that. Just stop doing that! It reminds me of a season of BBUSA where in the first few days it turned out most of them found out they had either signed with the same Talent Agency or worked with someones Agent and half of them worked for or frequented the same night clubs that BB Producers frequented. Grrrrrr! |

It has become tedious now - the 'over-the-wall', 'fire-exit' and 'diary-room exit' walks... Surely, if they were made to sign tougher contracts, where financial penalties (repaying chaperone fees; relocation fees; psychological review fees; legal fees; etc.) and publicity/interview restrictions were implemented should they have to be 'removed' or 'walk', we'd get a far better show because those who DID enter the house would be more comitted to what they were doing. I also believe harsh penalties need to be implemented for those who don't wear their microphones or switch them off! AND, packets of crisps need to be banned! (They severely interfere with what can be heard through the microphones.) I thoroughly believe they should be punished severely for putting blankets/quilts over themselves and/or others. Ohh...I could go on and on.... ![]() |

Things I think should change for BB11's audition process...
1. People should be allowed to make a 5minute video of themselves and upload them onto the Big Brother website. Members of the public can give them a star rating 1-5 but you cannot see the overall result. The person who recieves the most votes at the end will automatically be one of the housemates. However, because we cannot see the overall results, we will not know who that person is until the launch night. (Big Brother must then prove to the public that the process was 100% genuine to avoid claims it was fixed). 2. When people attend open auditions, they must NOT have the beginning process of picking people from the queue based on appearance, they must NOT do the line-up where you have just 10seconds to tell them why you should be in the house, or any of the other similar early stages. 3. They need to bring in an X-Factor style audition process (not the new one) where you fill out the application form before anything else. Then you get a 5minute interview with a panel of 4 audition examiners to basically sell yourself as much as possible. If they think you're interesting enough then you go on to the next round. If you are already with an agency of some sort or the exam reveals that they are just fame-hungry wannabes they won't go any further. Also, if you are over the age of 23 and it is your first time auditioning, you will automatically be eliminated due to the fact you've been legally able to apply for the past 5years and clearly they don't want it as bas as others - people who have wanted to/ have auditioned for years will be more likely to appreciate the experience and won't walk out so easily. (There is nothing worse than seeing a housemate that auditioned on a whim and then walking out when you have thousands of determined fans who would do anything to get in the house). The next round will be an activity that will allow audition examiners to see how you are in a group and task activity, they will then put through all auditionees they think were active enough. If you weren't active or entertaining enough, you won't go through. 4. To continue the process, it will be a combination of tasks and interviews that will weedle out the wannabes from the genuinely determined fans. Auditionees I think should automatically be eliminated from the process: ~Anyone who has an agency of any kind. ~Anyone who has previously been on a reality show or a similar show. ~Anyone over the age of 25 who is auditioning for the first time (see point 3). ~Anyone that arrives to the auditions in costume, in character, or any other false persona. ~Anyone who has not been a British citizen for the past 2years. ~Anyone who claims or shows signs of ONLY wanting fame or magazine deals. Things I think Channel4/Big Brother should eliminate: ~Having a 'cast' in mind pre-auditions and looking for people who fit this cast. (There is clear evidence that this is how the process works as we see similarities in housemates who were originally reserves, eg. BB9 Jennifer was a reserve for if Rachel pulled out at the last minute but managed to get on when a different housemate pulled out. Also, if we look at BB10's half-way housemates, they were all put in there FOR another housemate, eg. Fashion Designer Pakistani immigrant Hira for Fashionista Iranian immigrant Siavash, Bohemian/Hippie Bea for Bohemian/Hippie Freddie, Hunky Tom for Hunk-lover Noirin, Flambouyant gay David for "I want more gays" Charlie, and Kenneth - Karly's boyfriend.) They should audition people based on if they are good or not, not whether they fit their cast. ~Big Brother should NOT, under any circumstances, put in a housemate who has not auditioned. BB9 we saw Nicole go in for Rex, and BB10 we saw Kenneth for Karly and Isaac for Noirin. It is complete disrespect to all BB fans and auditionees that spent time and money on auditioning but being denied a place in the house. ~Big Brother should not put people in the house based on "that person will get on with that person", "that person won't get on with that person", "them two could form a romance". Just put the best housemates in and see what happens. |

[rquote=2249245&tid=130248&author=andyman]They should stop using agencies to get housemates.. It's a sham![/rquote]
This. This year I would say only Marcus, Lisa, Tom and maybe Freddie were the only ones who got in via the normal audition process. |

I think there was something about Freddie being spotted at a wrap-party and being approached by a producer.
I think, anyway. |
