Default can i have some computer advice please»?

hi

im thinking of selling my computer soon and upgrading.

i have a lot of uni work and so on on my hard drive. whats the best way to delete this info?

ive deleted it through the recylcle bin and so on but ive looked through the contents of the harddrive with a pc inspector software and the files are still retrievable, but i cant delete them. is there anyway to delete them?

or do i just use the disk that sets the computer back to original factory settings?

thanks for your time.

When you delete a file, it still stays there, it is just the pointer is not there, which is why Undelete can work, if little disk activity has been done.

What you could try is do a full disk defragmentation, and then run your PC inspector. I would be interested to see if that would "clean" the disk.

You could always re-format the hard drive before you sell it...
