Shouldn't be captain of England that's a dead cert.

Yes his career is as a footballer, but he's meant to set an example, he's representing the country and kids look up to him and want to be like him. He shouldn't be allowed to think that being a dirty cheating *****bag is alright and he won't get any repurcussions from it because of who he is.

But why should fame impact on his career? Why should we lose a good player in the national team because of a scandal? If you had an affair would you expect to lose your job over it too? He's placed on the England team because he's a good player, the only time he should be a 'representative' of England is when he's on the pitch because that's the only time it matters.

like I said before all the boos would turn to cheers if he scores a few goals at the WC, people are fickle. Look at Cheryl Cole and her transformation in the public eyes.

I see what you are saying but his job is slightly different to any that I might have lol. Representing your country isn't just about being great at what you do, it's a huge honour and responsibilty and I wouldn't want my kids looking up to someone who is a cheating scum bag, however good he is at football. And that's what his job includes, being a role model for kids, and he is not a good one. I agree people are fickle, and most just jumping on the bandwagon but I think people like him need to be taught a lesson, and if it means him being stripped of the captaincy then so be it.
