I think you're being a little harsh on George here. I listened to him on David Frost's Breakfast with Frost a few weeks ago and he was sooo elequent and passionate about the war. I also saw him on Graham Norton singing the Don Maclean song, which was extremely powerful and then he was on a serious BBC2 programme called Hardtalk and he was so honest and hardhitting it was almost painful to watch him. I think he may have been misquoted about an anti-war song. What he actually said was that he didn't want another 'Band-aid' type record, as this war was not something that money could fix. he went on to say it had taken him until this age to have political wisdom enough to speak out. I think that the newspaper may have twisted this to use against him. I admire his stance and I don't for one minute think he wants to gain anything out of it for himself.
