Yeh he was talking about makeup and eyes as some mascara was being put on his face by Corin. Before that he was saying (with a chuckle in this voice from what I remember and my interpretation) how a girlfriend shocked him when he saw her without makeup in the morning as she looked like a completely different woman. It didn't exactly sound complimentary to me. I can only give my interpretation.

He never mentioned the race of the girlfriend he was talking about and he didn't say it nasty he just said what a lot of us say about certain people looking so different when they wear make-up. Some look stunning with it on some look stunning with it off.

He wasn't rude or critical about it he was just stating the obvious and not being horrible IMO.

Ok you have a right to your opinion. I know he didn't mention the race of the girlfriend, maybe he implied or said she looked far better with the makeup on? Hard to remember now but that was my interpretation. I think earlier in the series he said he liked women in southern Europe but stopping at Africa. I'm NOT saying he is racist but he does put his foot in at times.
