I don't know... I think Dave was just miffed for being dropped in it by Ben... even though Dave carried on with it voluntarily. But as they say... he that humbleth himself wishes to be exhalted.

All told he did about 45 pressups, he did a few after his running on the spot, then near the end he had to do one for each housemate, then same again but naming them on each pressup, he also did ten saying bens name.
