GUTTED! havent been able to get a grip for a while. This felt even worse than Senegal losing on a golden goal in 2002!
Poor Ghana! Poor Asamoah Gyan!!
I am gonna be devastated, for about 4 days!

The best game yet to watch both teams gave it everything commiserations to ghana they deserved it more in my opinion especialy after Uruguay cheating them out of a winner shame on them! the thing i wanted to add was that as spectacular as both goals were and i dont want to take anything away from how good they were they were both due to the crap ball taking a double swerve like the plastic 99 pence flyaway balls from the co-op used to do when you were a kid.
ive just been watching highlights again here.
http://www.itv.com/sport/football/fi...v-ghana-65928/
ghanas goal maybe not so much but he hits it with the outside of his left foot which instinctively wrongfoots the keeper it can only swerve to the keepers right nope it goes to his left but its too late.

forlans equaliser is more obvious that its the ball on the link watch the 2nd replay at 1min 28secs the ball curls to the left then switches direction and swerves to the right thats impossible with an adults football but not with this piece of plastic rubbish the keeper once again has started moving in the direction of the ball only for it to switch directions in mid flight! its crap how the hell did they allow it to be used adidas are a joke but fifa must have ok'd it at some point.
its crazy.

the art of moving a football in the air has always depended on spin and its an art only the greatest most skilful players in the world can truly master spin causes curl and dipping or even rising of the ball the jabulani kills all of that anyone can hit and hope with it and it could go anywhere bury the damn thing and never let it see the light of day again its already ruined one world cup.

I didnt really put anythning on the ball, but I do know what youre saying about the cheap ass ball you played with as a kid. Would just go where the wind takes it sometimes. ANd it looks like on the FK, the ball did a double swerve. NEver noticed it before! Just emphasizes even more for me! Why cant we ever win quarter4 final games!

I feel for English fans now! They are always in this position!

BEter luck for all of us in Brazil!!! WHo knows! It could be England vs Senegal, for the WC final!

2002 was like the most surprising world cup ever. I mean debutants Senegal (who?) come along and beat defending champions France, and make it to the quarters leaving France behind in the dust.

South Korea (granted host nation but still) make it to the semis'! Beating Italy and I think, Spain, along the way. Turkey also make it to the semis! (WHAT?) Yeah man that was a crazy world cup.

This ones' been full of surprises again. Ghana really did Africa proud. But all Asamoah Gyan had to do was take his penalty like he did the other ones, do it in his own effective way, and they'd have been the first African team ever to make semis. Really harsh.

Words can not describe how much of a twat this man is.
Suarez - My Hand of God
Striker says he had no choice but to block Adiyiah's header

Last updated: 3rd July 2010

Suarez: Hand of God

This was the end of the World Cup. I had no choice. I have the 'Hand of God' now. I did it so that my team-mates could win the penalty shoot-out. When I saw Gyan miss the penalty it was a great joy.

Luis Suarez

Luis Suarez says he now has the 'Hand of God' after his controversial handball helped Uruguay reach the semi-finals of the World Cup.

Ajax striker Suarez's deliberate handball on the goal-line in the final minute of extra-time prevented Dominic Adiyiah's header from sending Ghana through to the last four.

Suarez was sent off for his action and then danced with glee on the sidelines when Asamoah Gyan smacked the resultant penalty against the crossbar.

Uruguay went on to prevail 4-2 in the shoot-out to set up a semi-final clash with Holland and Suarez's handball drew comparisons to Diego Maradona's infamous goal against England at the 1986 finals.

Prolific front-man Suarez is now claiming the 'Hand of God' mantle for himself and insists he had no choice but to block Adiyiah's header.

"This was the end of the World Cup. I had no choice. I have the 'Hand of God' now," said Suarez.

"I did it so that my team-mates could win the penalty shoot-out. When I saw Gyan miss the penalty it was a great joy."
Instinctive

Uruguay coach Oscar Tabarez believes it would be wrong to accuse his team of cheating and insists Suarez was properly punished for the incident.

Tabarez said: "When there is a handball in the penalty area there is a red card and the player is thrown out of the game.

"Saying we cheated Ghana is too harsh a word to use. We also abide by what the referee did. It could have been a mistake. Yes he stuck his hand out, but it's not cheating. I don't think it's fair to say that.

"I think it was instinctive. The player instinctively reacted and was thrown out of the match and he can't play the next match. What else do you want?

"Is Suarez also to blame for Ghana missing the penalty? We try to be dignified and if we lose a match we look for the reasons for it. You shouldn't look to third parties.

"This is football. There are consequences to that handball and he didn't know that Ghana was going to miss that penalty."
