His fake laughter and OTT bubbliness. Annoying.

As is his sudden playfullness with Caoimhe. Both acting fake to save each other from eviction.

I don't even need to start with the bible stuff...

I lost all respect for him after that business with Steve's leg offering to take it out of the prize money (Shabby was just as bad, mind you). It was so low.

He's an excellent gameplayer though, credit where credit is due.

The New Ecstatics are a cult that deliberately and cynically targets vulnerable groups (with specific laungauge such as 'raves', jacked up', 'drunk') and solicits donations based on unproven claims of the supernatural and channeling God to heal.

As the head of this cult Dave is in the house promoting it and I personally have a problem with that.

I also personally hate their core message of 'don't think, don't do anything, just get drunk'.

The selling of God's power, if it exists, as just another intoxicant and to be used solely for personal ends seems a perverse twisting of the Bible to me.

He hasnt claimed to be able to heal or cure anyone, he says God can heal and cure etc.

People donating is totally different than him charging money for or even asking for money for a service(healing).

Under the Consumer Protection laws that were extended last year to falsely claim a service like healing and receive payment for would render him liable to prosecution. There is no get out clause for religious based claims either.

He is a contestant on a game show - you're not interviewing him for a job fgs!

I had never heard of him before he went on bb - and if his group were under any kind of investigation for dubious conduct - I'm sure we would have heard about it - and he wouldn't have applied to go on bb in the first place!

Whether it is god himself doing the curing or not, it has to go through HIM!! Dave is the one laying his "healing hands" on them...

He is preying on the sick & vulnerable by suggesting he can cure them... Of course people are going to feel obliged to give him a donation...

If he really believes that - he isn't conning anyone. Lots of well-known, established religions believe in the power of God's healing - doesn't mean they are dishonest or mad! What about the hundreds of thousands, if not millions, who travel to Mecca and Lourdes every year! Of course there are a lot of Fraud's about, doesn't mean he is one of them - maybe just mis-guided and over-zealous due to his religious beliefs! Talk about a witch hunt!

I think it's because they yet havent actively broken any laws. It seems people think that if they havent then they must be ethically sound.

I don't think anyone who has done any reading of cults and how they potentiolly destroy lives (which has been historically proven) would defend the promotion of the New Ecstatics by C4.
