a certain other forum suggests that there are two mario,s.

the normal one and the depressed / sexually frustrated one.

they cite one incident of him going to the diary room with a beardy face and when

he came out he was clean shaven.

the theory made me chuckle, at last something a little light hearted to ponder over.
