What I saw that I believe was the start of his demise when he called Josie a pig, that's pretty insulting to most people. He also commented on a top/dress that Josie was wearing and that she shouldn't wear those type of clothes with the figure she has. His constant backstabbing can come across as a very ugly character.
He dumped Rachel when Laura came into the house, then blamed her for been angry with him for no reason.
I just believe he went this week based on how he was been perceived over the past 10 days or so.
