I don't think there's anything too deep going on. I'd say he's just a slightly obsessed BB fan, given he has an in depth knowledge of UK and AU BB. And of course he's already tried out for BB Australia, before the show ended in 2008. Maybe he was a bit bored...doesn't need to work because of his inheritance etc... so, had the - time, money, UK passport. Of course he wants to win, and is curious about fame. Maybe there's an element of proving himself to his mum, or also spurred on by imagining that his deceased father would of been proud of him, if he's a success!
