Actually, Last of the Summer Wine was more slapstick situational humour, based on gooning and quite lowbrow and probably quite suited to a fan of Sam's, whereas Andrew is more a thinking man's humour of deadpan, irony, and observation.

yeah because andrews entertaining with actual intelligence while sam is not entertaining and has to live off being spiteful to people.

You missed the point of what I am saying, but again that explains a lot as to why you don't get Andrew and can relate to Sam. Not everyone will get subtleties, it's ok.
