I respect him for coming out before his debut, some will be cynical and say its to boost album sales but this isn't strictly true, I know it targets the gay market but imagine the percentage of female fans he will lose because of his sexuality.

At least he didn't fool women across the country for decades while he was releasing albums then come out when he realized his career was out of steam like Ricky Martin and Duncan James. Joe is much younger too which takes a lot more guts to come out, especially that publicly.
