Then we tune in on Sunday to find we've got a sing off and the judges will decide. The X-Factor website also implied there would be no sing off. What happened between Saturday night and Sunday night for them to suddenly decide to have a sing off?

Articles I have read as good as say that the producers decided late on Sunday as the show was going out. Who made this decision and why?
