I couldn't give a toss about the morality behind getting the housemates pissed. I'm not in there. Watching a drunk house is a hell of a lot more entertaining from a TV perspective than watching a sober one. Booze has fuelled most of BB's biggest nights.

Oh yes..... watching people fighting, spitting, booze fuelled anger is really entertaining isn't it.....

There are a shed load of other real life documentaries if you want to watch that stuff.

As I said: it says a lot that this is seen as 'entertainment'. You don't have to wait for Big Brother come around to see that...... you no doubt will have it in your local town every weekend.

So you didnt enjoy fight night? Or Brian Belo and Charleys raging argument?, Jade and Adelle over verruca gate?

Watching people fighting and making tits out of themselves is very entertaining.

Why wrap them in cotton wool if this is supposed to be real life then they should be allowed to have booze just as they would outside the house.

I've been a fan of the show since it's first showing....and I'd say this was part of it's downfall.

If you can't have fun and have a good time without booze..... I'd say that shows a pretty limited intelligence.

No i didn't enjoy watching people fighting, being aggressive and being violent. I found it pretty sick, disturbing and completely uncomfortable. As a fan of the show: it plunged it to new depths. and i have to say: it raises more questions as to how 'some' find that entertaining.

I'm entitled to voice my opinion. Tough if you don't agree. BB4 had personalities that were boring.

There are plenty of good personalities out there who don't need to be pissed out of their faces to be entertaining.

I never said you couldn't all I was doing was replying with my own. It's clear from the replies you're alone here with your opinion.

Some of the best and most memorable BB moments have happened because of alcohol. Taking it away all together would be a boring mess. We can still have good personalities AND alcohol to provide entertainment.

If you don't like it BB obviously isn't the right show for you.

What you don't get is BB isn't about that, I watch it for the escapism. Don't have to all act like pretentious twats all the time.

You make a very strong point for more alcohol being allowed, good examples of some of the most popular conflicts.

The one I have to support totally that you make is that they should be allowed to have alcohol as they would outside the house,if people didn't like the way they were under the influence of alcohol they can always try to vote them out.

I agree with both sides of this debate, I'm doing a Rachel Rice and I'm sitting on the fence.

It is terrible that we only find HMs properly entertaining when they're pissed but at the end of the day, it's Big Brother. It's been a TV show before a social experiment for years now, it's a trashy TV show, not some snotty documentary. Big Brother needs to stay entertaining and to the disappointment of some, alcohol usually results in entertainment.

Like somebody said above, being pissed doesn't necessarily mean that you're going to become aggressive and start spitting and acting like a plonker, I've certainly never been like that when pissed. Most people I know are happy drunks, we tend to have more fun and are happier and high-spirited as a result so I don't see what the problem is really?

Drinking is a routine part of life for most people - especially those that frequent these types of shows. There is no great cosmological mystery or hidden connection behind the fact that watching drunk people do dumb stuff makes for entertaining TV in a lot of peoples eyes. Drinking is a relatively normal activity. Why is it low to take entertainment from watching strangers on the telly drink? Wouldn't that make it a despicable act of depravity to then want to go out with my friends myself and drink? No? Why? Because it's normal?

It's vaudeville, sure, but that's Big Brother for you. If you are going to take this rat arse serious a view of it then having to rely on strangers interact with each other in a house in the first place could be said to be a bit sad. Sober or not. I'm sure you are willing to argue that point though.
