We have had this discussion before Zippy,6th out of 12 is not a loser, its actually in the top half of the finals really, as to 8th in Eurovision, that is even more successful, to come 8th out of 25 Countries on the strength of 42 other Countries votes.Again well in the top half of the competition.
Everyone cannot win in competitions and they did far better than most in both the finals you list.

However, again as I've said many times, you hate them, I really like them and it seems TV companies really like them too.

As for not believing the figures, you don't know they are wrong just as I cannot be 100% sure they are right,however on past contracts they have been paid very high sums and still are raking the funds in so they are going to be around on TV for many years yet,likely decades even.

They have a few advertising contracts but nothing huge. One direction have done similar campaigns even. And you don't know what they earnt. The press talk BS about figures and always inflate hugely.

and given that their main appeal lies mainly with small children(like Louis always claims) they certainly will not still be around when their youth fades. They won't get away with wacky hyper behaviour as grown men. Then what do they have to offer? Sod all.

Lots of people apparantly said exactly the same as to Ant and Dec aka PJ and Duncan, but look where they got to from being zany,whacky, hyper and appealing mostly to Children and teenage girls initially too.

You are just being a bit unfair to them(and usually you are not unfair at all),that is simply because you don't like them so comment from bias against them, thankfully they don't need to rely on you but I think you will find their many, yes many, followers 'will' actually stay with them because it's not just music they are involved in, they are head hunted for lots of TV and a variety of shows/programmes, its clear to me that Louis Walsh is establishing them on TV as TV performers and stars and one day they will be presenting shows like Ant and Dec have,(mark my words),for many years to come once that starts.
