This thread IS a thinly veiled opportunity to be bitchy. It started out as a criticism of her saying something derogatory about some flowers. Now her accent's been ridiculed, long discussions about her surgery, her age, her clothes... The hate is getting hysterical as usual.

I believe that is allowed either way - as we are discussing the celebrity.

What is not thinly veined, are the personal insults toward members of this forum who are not overflowing with adoration for Madonna, and it has only evolved in the manner it has: due to some turning it into a personal slagging match by insulting forum members, rather than actually sticking to the subject in hand: Madonna.

Correct, and it has evolved in discussing other less positive aspects as people have put their own input in.

If it is bitchy, then it is towards the celebrity and there is no rule breaks on that front.

if people do not want to read what the don't like seeing - they don't have to keep returning to the thread. Surely that's a fair basic concept? Any bitchy comments if you want to put it like that, are being directed at Madonna - so I'm not sure why some seem to be taking it so personally.

Mountains / molehills anyone?
