If I was Fed and had been probed with the same questions I wouldn't have been offended at all, maybe a little embarrased , but I have would done my best to laugh it all off . I think as a rule, men are more acceptable to discuss such information without showing offence, that's how it's always been hasn't it? Understandably it's a different case altogether for women, who are more protective and sensitive, and it would be deemed rude to discuss any private bits without their consent first.
