Regardless of how her parents handled, getting to 17 years of age and not having the slightest bit of interest in anything other than a toddler's snack is extremely odd.

Surprised she looks a healthy weight and has a boyfriend and everything.

Something tells me the story is exaggerated. Where she does actually eat other things regularly but has some kind of a 4 days a week addiction to them or something that's now affecting. No way would she have survived to this age on just nuggets.
