So you can use a word, but take issue when I use it in the same context. That makes sense.... to you I guess.

I don't mind that designers use thin, skinny, emaciated, gaunt or otherwise underweight women. The clothes hang beautifully on them and that's the idea - because they are models. The largest group who does seem to have a problem with skinny models seems to be overweight women who want to see more of their kind modelling. Putting designer clothes on fat women isn't going to do anything for the clothes... although it might make little girls think, Christ, I don't want to look like that.

It was not in the same context at all livia, if you can attempt to understand my reasoning behind my choice of words that would be great.

If thats your view fine, i don't happen to agree that they look better.
No one is suggesting the designers put 'fat' women in the clothes, im not sure where you got that idea from.

Some supermodels look ill. Obviously clothes look better on slim people but no need to use people who look anorexic. Doesnt really send out a good message now does it...

Plenty of tall thin people arent drastically underweight and look just fine. Use them instead. Clothes will hang good on them and it wont look like you are dressing a skeleton

You can be such a literalist... but only when it suits you.

If you want to look at plus size models because you think they look better then that's up to you. I don't see what the problem is with designers using tall, thin models that show their clothes off to their best advantage. The better designers don't really make stuff for plus size people anyway.

The thing is Kizzy, I can't be bothered to attempt to comprehend everything you say because you're such hard work. You labour the point to death and if the only way you can come back at someone is to criticise them for using EXACTLY THE SAME WORD that you used, then that's what you do. I don't know if it's an attempt to make yourself look smarter, but seriously... it's not working. It is mildly amusing though, which is why I don't have you on ignore right now.

I just love women i guess, all of them, in all sizes.
For a gay man it may be a dream come true but what kind of a woman wants to look like a prepubescent boy? They look stupid and ugly.

Maybe she meant "skinny" as in "slim" but skinny to me means underweight and malnourished. And that does not feel good at all IMO, I was too skinny all through my teens and I hated it. Models with lollipop heads look ridiculous.

When your bones are clearly visible through your skin then you know you've gone too far.

Personally i think tall slim girls show off the clothes better. I do part time fashion design and for my final year fashion shows and any photography I use generally use models that are size 8/10 and under. The height doesn't matter as much to me tho as I do clothes for petite women too, but 5 ft 6 and over is preferable

When a thin/skinny/slim model will show off the clothes better..then it seems like the obvious thing to do...it's nothing new...Twiggy invented that look in the sixties
There are some clothes that don't suit the smaller size and fuller figures models are used....the shape should suit the style imo

curvy is ok for editorial shoots or magazine ads etc.. but for runway, thin models are better to show off a garment (unless its specifically for big girls obviously)

The second one looks beautiful :s

I get so bored of girls saying they are too skinny or fat when it is far from the case. "You look fine how you are" doesn't mean anything to them :\

I think normal sized girls should be the models as they are better looking and your advertising to be healthy so it's a win, win.
