Katy Perry has admitted that she needs a break following the Teenage Dream campaign.

The 'Part of Me' singer made the comments while accepting a NARM Music Award for 'Artist Of The Year' on Thursday (May 10).

After seeing a clip of her work, she said: "It's been an incredible journey this past second record and also the deluxe - well the special edition, we can't call it a deluxe can we? - version of Teenage Dream.

"I saw why I'm so exhausted - I like working so hard. But it's really so fun to work so hard because I love reaching my goals. I do a lot to sell my records. I work very hard. I like to sell out in all the best ways."

She added: "I swear after this song, I'm taking a ******ing vacation."

Perry, who divorced Russell Brand in December, will release 'Wide Awake' as the final single from Teenage Dream.

She became the first female artist to achieve five US Hot 100 number ones from a single album last year. 'Part of Me' topped the Billboard Hot 100 in February.

Good for her. She's one of the most hardest working women in the music industry and she deserves a break. Her friend Rihanna should take a leaf out of her book. Wide Awake is the perfect song to end the Teenage Dream era, too.

Even though she's drawn this album campaign out for so long, it doesn't really feel like she's been everywhere unlike Rihanna who just doesn't disappear - so it won't feel weird if Katy Perry goes away for a while. She deserves the break though!

She's the opposite of Rihanna. Rihanna ****s out album after album, changing her image every 5 farts. Whereas it seems forever ago since Katy Perry released that album. I don't know whether that's a good thing or whether she's milked it too much.

Either way they both do my head in.
