Oh Sticks, don't be so miserable. The Sun didn't really want them to break up, they wanted to sell papers, and tales of them in crisis did that. Of course, if they broke up they'd have even more tales of crisis, but that was the means to an end, not the actual goal.

However, they also know that pictures of happy couples also make a good, if not as good a story, so will go with that too.

Of course them staying together and not being any of the things they were accused made it rather obvious they had to give up on splitting them up. Sun readers might have been happy to have Paul uncovered as a love rat when they believed it, but now they are obviously happy they wouldn't be impressed at obvious meddling.

Having the press outside your door could make your life miserable, but you don't change your relationship, you would move house. At the worst, it might encourage Helen to follow Paul's lead and return to 'civilian' life, quitting Lorraine. However, unless Helen (or Paul?) takes on a new, higher profile tv project I doubt there is that much mileage in constant coverage of their private lives.

BTW, I don't think the photo is outside their house anyway. The bit of writing says it's 'near' their home and of course if they don't want their readers to think they are invading privacy they would say that rather than 'outside', but there is a big billboard thing behind them. They are clearly not in their drive, and on a main road of some description. It's one of those billboards that rotates, and they only put them in highly visible places, so P&H must have been in a proper public place.

OK, Paul might have the p*ss taken out of him at work, but if they couldn't cope with being spotted having a kiss, then they shouldn't have been in a public place. I don't think we should underestimate their resiliance or sense of humour. If they are the people I think they are they'll be having a laugh. Possibly slightly concerned at what else was seen and reminding themselves that they need to be a little more careful than most.

Chilledbootz, I think the fantasy league thing is still going. I rather saw Helen's inclusion on that as a sign that they expected to be running stories on her, rather than running stories on her because of it. I suppose it works both ways a bit.
