I wouldn't describe her as "ugly inside" from what i've seen, she's very self critical of her own behavior, not a quality I would associate with someone who has a hidden ugliness, when she does something bad she tells herself to be a lady and not let herself down. That kind of self reflection is very healthy, everyone should do it.

I think he's enraged particularly because it was Deana. The word superior is used a lot to describe her.
I think those that put themselves beneath her are going to feel uncomfortable and irrationally make it her fault.
