"Tia Sharp’s gran has told police she did not see the 12-year-old in the 24 hours before she disappeared.

It had been thought that Christine Sharp, 46, spent the evening with Tia, 12, and partner Stuart Hazell, 37, at her house.

But she says she was working as a carer overnight last Thursday and did not get home until late the following afternoon – the day Tia vanished."
