Missy Elliott is to unveil two new singles at the start of September (2012).
The rapper's last album, 'The Cookbook', came out in 2005 and her follow-up, 'Block Party' has been in the works since 2008. In recent years, she has limited herself to occasional guest spots on singles by Katy Perry and J Cole.
However, her longtime collaborator Timbaland has now revealed that Elliott's comeback is imminent. He took to Twitter to make the announcement yesterday (August 25), posting the following message:

Labor Day, a national holiday that takes place on the first Monday in September in the US, falls on September 3 this year (2012), meaning that Elliott's singles could premiere as soon as September 1.
Elliott joined Timbaland to perform both tracks, '9th Inning' and 'Triple Threat', at a one-off live show in New York this April (2012). Scroll down to watch fan footage of the pair performing '9th Inning'.
Earlier this month (August 14), Elliott and Timbaland denied reports that they are contributing to a posthumous album from Aaliyah.
