In the US and Austrailia the crowd just listens to the host talk to the hgs and laugh if they hear something funny and usually cheer a hm on their way out, even if they're hated (On the US version, you can tell how popular a hg was when they go back to the house after a eviction and you can hear the cheers for the hgs thru the wall since there's usually a crowd the size of a bots crowd at the evictions, since the evictee walk from the house into the eviction studio).

For the love of Gawd, Great British Public, please DO NOT ever, ever, ever favorably compare the US version in anyway to your own. The US BB once was not too bad but is now over-produced garbage led by a woman who long ago threw away anything related to Big Brother and who would rather be producing the Batchelor. The "audience" simply follows the prompts. The host is personality-free with no actual interest in the show. On the upside, still have the live feed but that simply serves the confirm for us how bad the televised shows now are. Thank goodness for You Tube and Channel 5 for allowing us the see an entertaining version of BB the way it should be, unruly audience and all.
