I don't know about anyone else but the weirdest thing about all of this for me is that I remember when this date started being bandied about back in 2009-ish, and I remember thinking 'ah that's ages away' and here we are...it's here already. Not that I believe it's going to end, just in the sense that I can remember when it felt like forever and a day away until this date, and now it's here and almost over! Crazy.

Three years people have being going on about today...and now we are here. Numerous groups on Facebook over the years, threads and calendar events by Patrick (I remember when he created that event...so weird). I don't know, time flies!

Been even longer than that for me, remember someone mentioned it to me back in 2007 and they were going all crazy about it...can't believe how fast it's gone

Yes indeed we are alive! People at my college were talking about it loads this week (especially towards the end of the week). It did get everyone speculating what will happen. Plus the obvious web discussions. It seems so weird people were talking about this date for years and the day passed without any harm at all. You can say to your children you lived through the 2012 Doomsday!
