Default BB Germany to last a year!!!!!!!

According to THIS ANANOVA ARTICLE Endemol are considering running the fifth series of BB in Germany for A WHOLE YEAR!!!

Now as much as I like BB this seems completely ridiculous to me, for a start how could they expect the housemates to take a whole year out of their lives to live on a tv show, and what would it do to them psychologically being cooped up in the house with no outside contact for so long.

Another point is would we actually all watch it for a whole year, wouldn't we get bored with it after a while - we certainly would if it was as exciting as BB4 and I think if I had had to put up with BB3 for a whole year I would have ended up suicidal I think we would have even got bored with BB2 after all this time

What do you all think?

That's wierd, I wrote a post about this last night - I must have forgotton to press the 'post' button. Idiot.

According to THIS thread this idea might be copyright to a forum member!

The only way anyone would be able to last the year is if they were given lots to do, they would probably start to feel institutionalised though. If the cash prize is big then that would be an incentive. Either that or the next logical stage is the Truman Show.

I'd probably be hooked to a UK year-long BB, I can get German satellite TV channels so I could watch this but I don't speak any German.

A year!!!!
Don't think this is a great idea. I think I'd get really bored with watching after a while, even though I like BB a lot

It would be good for Big Brother fan sites to have a year-long Big Brother.

Always something to talk about.

You would have to be very psychologically strong to survive this. A whole year being locked away from loved ones and the outside world! It could be disastrous if they absolutely hated each other.

Much as I love BB I dont think this is a good idea. Apart from anything else I need a few months between BBs to catch up on my sleep again. Although in the case of BB4 it would be to wake up again

It depends how many of them would actually be in for a whole year. They might do it on a rolling basis and bring in new housemates to provide a balance - like bringing Jon Tickle back into the BB4 house to give some interest!

Like that idea, it would then make the show watchable for a year, unless the people are boring that is
