to be fair British banks arn't exactly safe bets eigther. Wasn't part of the BP oil spill scandal that British retirement funds were wrapped up in BP stock? So now when BP absolutely destroyed an ecosystem in the gulf of Mexico all those poor old pensioners were out a lot of money, and we're meant to feel bad for a giant oil company like BP, right?
