Older housemates can be good. Remember Carol? She was funny!

I think Carol was the worst HM ever. She totally spoilt BB that year and the memory of her filing the hard skin off her feet each day still turns my stomach.

She was awful - a complete fun sponge who repeatedly put an end to the rest having fun, yet for some reason I've still not figures out once Charlie had gone BB seemed to be keen to protect her and keep her there to the favourite.

BB needs a range of HMs but people need to be there on merit, not age - and the older the more entertaining they need to be. 21-45 is the ideal age for BB HMs - a good range of ages which reflects the audience watching.

I agree. Looking back on past series' of Big Brother, the best ones had a range in ages. In BB5 everyone was between 21-45 and thats one of the best series' to date. The older housemates also usually had a story to tell too and that showed in their personality, e.g. Derek from BB6 was a british lobbyist and was speechwriter for Margaret Thatcher.

It makes for better TV when each individual housemate comes from a range of backgrounds and places in the UK, is entertaining in their own way and are from a range of social classes.
