I think Shameless is the only good remake they've ever done tbqfh.

I think it looks quite good tbh... not sure why anyone was expecting it to be anything else. If it tried the Welsh thing it'd go completely awry. The cast's quite good, and the jokes in the promo were pretty decent.

It looks too similar, I'd probably support it more if it was more of a departure from the original since the best TV remakes tend to be the ones that pay homage to the original but doesn't follow it like a blueprint.

It's like with Shameless US, the first half of the first series pretty much followed the original series but then they went in their own direction with the characters and story and it paid off.

Americans do rom sitcoms like Gavin and Stacey quite well so I'd be surprised if it was terrible. Then again, I was not much of a fan of the original anyway.
