I went with black ones. They hide the blood, luckily. My foot hurts so much though, I had to muffle my language and rage because one of my housemates is in bed.

I cut my toe on glass at the beach when I was younger, still have the scar, blood gushing everywhere, had to have stiches and my foot in a bandage I think.

In theory your plugs should be worse to step on because they have a smaller surface area so the pressure should be greater... I wouldnt want to personally find out however

Yeah, see NZ, Oz and USA plugs if you step on them just fall on their side most of the time if you step on them because the way they are designed, UK ones just sit and wait to savagely insert themselves into your foot.
