flying terrifies me, even waiting to board and watching them take off and land gives me the chills, i think its one of the safest transports but that doesn't change anything for me

I do know how you feel.. My sister is **** scared and I feel awful for her; I've had to hold her hand whilst she's been sobbing during a bit of turbulence before.

My friend actually tried hypnosis which helped her.. She could only fly if they let her into the cockpit to speak to the pilots but obviously that was stopped after 9/11. I don't think the hypnosis cured her but it did help.

you'd think after flying once/twice a year for 15 years id be ok now, its terrible luckily enough iv never expienced bad turbulence before though, once im in the air i'm not too bad as long as iv got my ipod to listen to for the whole duration of the flight.. there is a strange sense of security seeing the pilot or hearing him making announcements though, its odd.

Yeah, just **** yourself if he makes the announcements in person.

I don't trust machines to fly solo.

There were 307 on board, including 16 crew. Officials said 123 escaped without injury and 181 were hospitalized or treated for injuries. Among the injured, 49 are in serious condition and five at San Francisco General Hospital remain critical. Among the 47 others at San Francisco General, several were treated for minor injuries, including fractures and abrasions, and were released Saturday night.

"It was all over in 10 seconds," says Vedpa Singh, who suffered a fractured collarbone. "We heard a big bang, and it was over."
