Hazel said she could handle aggressive men so she knew exactly what he was like. I would have been out of their when he started telling her not to wear makeup. This the first form of control. Then what you can wear. Then your punished for not doing what you arre told.

I agree with most of that. However Hazel would have said anything to capitalise and she thought she was protected by BB. There is also a difference between aggressive and violent. No woman seeks to be assaulted , full stop.
