Interesting observation. Dan seemed to me one of those who grins a lot but has no real sense of humour; in particular he's unable to laugh and take the piss out of himself.

I have met a few people like that in my life; generally speaking I have not got on with them and that is perhaps why I have never taken to Dan from the outset.
