Very admirable. I doubt you would have many rights with regards to demanding names though lol.

I totally agree with that.

When I tell people that my Dad reared me and my sister I get a strange reaction sometimes. I think people still see the mother as the person who rears/should rear the children.

That's a good answer, Chris. Unfortunately the reality of finding yourself in that situation is often very different. If it actually happened to you the circumstances may change your opinion of getting involved.
