No it's not childish at all. I have also seen discussions on TBB about domestic violence. The main message has been, get away and stay away as violent men don't change. That is a fact. However there isn't any evidence of further violence from him, not unusual with abusers, especially those with any power, so IMO that's all that can really be said on the matter.
