The word "faith" simply means someone who says they believe something even though there is no evidence and the thing they say they believe in beggars belief in its stupidity. Mainly the word means "i am just going along with what my parents brainwashed me into believing" 9 times out of 10

people hide behind that word as if its something good, its not its a horrible excuse for not thinking.

That said I cant disagree with your sentiment that wishful thinking can be beneficial to many - that however does not make it true, worthy of respect or something to be encouraged.
