...hmmm, well he obviously doesn't want to be in the relationship/isn't ready for a serious thing..there isn't really anything that you can do about that but you don't have to watch him hurt her the way he is though..you could try talking to him and saying that this is the wrong way to do it, I know she'll be pretty hurt anyway and obviously feel rejected but what he's doing/the way that he's doing it, is going to make her feel pretty worthless and none of this is her fault...maybe just say that he can do as he wants but you're not going to be there for him if he hurts her like this instead of confronting it and talking to her/ending it properly..?..

Yeah well that's what I was saying to him last night but he's clearly not taken any of it in (possibly because he was drunk) but when he gets here in about half an hour I'm going to try again... and hopefully our friend will join in with the lecture on my side, haha. I just cannot believe he's acting like this, I don't know in what world he thinks this is justifiable in any way - I think he's just pushing it to see how far he can take it before he's found out so he doesn't have to do the difficult break up thing, he'd rather be found out and dumped than do the dumping

..that's exactly it though Zee, he knows he's behaving badly and what he's doing is wrong but it's a 'cop out' of having to tell her face to face/and for him he finds that easier but it's the most selfish thing to do and the worst for her..I know there isn't an easy way of ending it that won't hurt her but face to face will be the easiest to accept, this will just destroy her self esteem but it's a sign of his immaturity that he's doing what he's doing but can't actually face doing it, you know...I hope he listens to you...
