True, but that's the thing - categories. I'm not on about anyone on this thread but it's irritating the way most people assume OCD to be just about being a neat-freak obsessed with perfection and getting through 20 bottles of bleach and hand wash an hour.

..you're right it is different with everyone Redway..I knew a child with OCD which manifested in anger and his 'obsession' was mostly with anything different/anyone different he struggled with any change and had to have things exactly how he felt they should be..and that made it hard also because he could be quite violent toward new pupils because it made him anxious to see them, also when there was any type of special day or any visitors..?..he found that impossible to cope with, it's quite complex and different for everyone but basically makes quite unhappy people...

It's especially interesting to see how these things affect children and there seems to be a bit of overlap in the example you mentioned; I know a lot of people with autistic spectrum disorders struggle to cope with changes and that often causes a lot of anxiety for them. Did he have something like Asperger Syndrome as well or was it just OCD?

..he was diagnosed with other disorders as well but not Aspergers, it is why disorders are so hard to diagnose and why it sometimes takes a long time because there can often be similarities in them...strangely enough, his best friend at school has Aspergers and their 'obsessions' were really conflicting and totally the opposite of each other and at first they clashed terribly but after around a year, they became best friends and still are, they're both in their twenties now...
