You'd choose the Aldi because it's 1080p? This despite the fact there are more important aspects to a television set than whether it can do 1080p. Especially seeing as though...

1. Viewing angles play a part as to whether you'd even notice.

2. Sky, Freeview and Freesat don't natively broadcast in 1080p.

3. 1080p on a 32 inch set is widely regarded as being a marketing ploy and, to some, no difference between 720p and 1080p on a set of that size.

4. What if the Aldi TV suffers from motion blur, poor sound, dire response time, and ghosting issues, yet the Toshiba doesn't? Guess it still has 1080p and a premium remote control going for it.

Basing a decision purely on a higher number, is this case, is ludicrous.

They are giving the Specs

"Resolution: 1920 x 1080"

What is so stupid is you do not know if Toshiba
or LG or Samsung made this Aldi TV.
Then add the Tevion name

"Sky, Freeview and Freesat don't natively broadcast in 1080p"
Correct its 1080i
well above your 720P

But by adding a BluRay Player (now costing under £50)
it will play Full HD 1080P
unlike your real old 720P TV that can not

Even if they make it it is still not as good and up to date as a brand new Samsung/LG

On Tech gear its made in China or Korea for Germany
so Technical Gear is good in both stores
as both stores go below trade prices

Right, here goes...

You do know there are more to the specs of a television other than its resolution, right?

What is so stupid is you do not know if Toshiba
or LG or Samsung made this Aldi TV.

No. It may use a panel by a top brand, but the TV itself won't be put together by them. There is a difference.

"Sky, Freeview and Freesat don't natively broadcast in 1080p"
Correct its 1080i
well above your 720P

1. My TV is 1080p, albeit probably not a major point due to the size of the set.

2. Lot's prefer 720p over 1080i. Thus making your argument invalid.

But by adding a BluRay Player (now costing under £50)
it will play Full HD 1080P
unlike your real old 720P TV that can not

1. As said above, my TV is 1080p.

2. Going by your logic, if 720p is old then so is 1080p. There are higher resolutions around now. 4K for example.

Let's apply your logic to other technology.

The technology in the PS4 and Xbox One is OLD.

An Intel I5 processor is OLD.

An LCD TV must be OLD.

My Microwave is OLD.

Do you see where this leading?
